The Hot Spots In Your Home With The Most Roach Traffic
You know why they have invaded your home. You're ready to get rid of the roaches that have invaded your home. Wherever you go, you're told to place things in the right places; otherwise you risk facing complete failure. The question now is, how do you determine where the right places are? What is a right place and what isn't? What difference does it make at all? I'll be addressing these questions on this page so read on to find out the answers.
Why the right place matters
You may be questioning why it even matters if you're placing things like roach baits in the right places. Not only does it matter, it is critical. The difference is success and failure. You place your baits, pesticide, etc. in the wrong places and it could render them useless. You get it right and it could be the best roach killer you've ever used.
So why? Because the right places usually refer to areas where there is high roach traffic. That means a lot of cockroaches crawl through the area. Or it could also mean it's where a large population of the roaches infesting your house are hiding.
Just think about it. If you spray an area with pesticide and barely any cockroaches move through it then barely any cockroaches will die. The same goes for baits. If It was placed far away from the roaches they will not waste the effort of going all the eat over to it. Chances are there are other things to eat that are closer to then. You wouldn't drive all the way across town for a burger when there's a shop two blocks away would you?
Look for signs
One way to find high roach traffic areas is observation. Cockroaches are nocturnal so most of them will come out at night while your sleeping. Just leave the kitchen light off for a few hours at night. Then quietly sneak in and flip the lights on. You'll see where most of them are and where they scatter off to.
Take note of where most of them were right when you turned the lights on. That spit is a hot spot with high traffic. Also take note of where they ran off to. Those spots are high in spots.
Another thing you can look for are roach droppings. They will often look like ground coffee beans or black pepper. They're usually black in color. Look for areas with a lit of droppings. The more droppings there are the higher the amount of traffic is.
Use Traps
Another way is to use cockroach traps. The idea is to place these traps all over the place. Whichever trap has a lot of roaches caught indicates there is high traffic there. You can choose to buy commercially available traps from your local home improvement or super store. Or you can use something as simple as duct tape. Just have the sticky side up.
If you're using homemade traps, make you are using some kind d of bait to attract them. I've covered this extensively in my other page already so read more about it there.
Now that you know where the right place is and how important it is, you don't have to worry about wasting all tour time and effort anymore. Do you have something else to add? If so let me know and I will gladly add it in to the page (with your credit, of course).
